Blogger Book Club

I want to start a “Blogger Book Club”. A “Blogger Book Club” is when blog friends get together and read the same book for a specified period of time. I would begin by choosing a book that can be accessed free of charge on-line. I will post a link to the book on by sidebar so that you can access from here.

I would post a reading plan, which would indicate what chapters to read and by what date. After every few chapters, anyone interested should submit a questions or comment. I will then post all questions and comments on my blog.

Anyone in the book club can respond to the questions or comments via the post a comment link. It would look something like this:

Example Book Club Questions:

1. (Name of Book) has given us a few perspectives on simple living, please share your ideas on simplicity?

2. What might be some of the benefits of living a simpler life?

Example Book Club Comments:

Sarah said: This is in response to question #1- One of my goals for this year is to live a more simpler life. What I have done is gotten rid of all but one of our televisions. We now only have one in the family room, so instead of every one heading to there rooms and watch T.V. we watch it together in the family room.

Rita said: Question 2- Peace of mind.

Sue said: I am enjoying the book club. I have met so many great new people.

The first book on the list would be Adventures in Thrift by Anna Steese Richardson . I’ve read chapters 1-3 already and this book has really gotten me to thinking about a lot. Check it out, and if you are interested in reading as a book club we will begin reading chapters 1-3 Monday November 12th through Sunday November 18th. Leave a comment to let me know.

Oh and by the way don’t let the three chapters deter you they are ultra short pages. Maybe 8 or 9 sentences per taxt page… or was it pdf I was reading…anyway the pages are so short and so are the chapters. If it gets to be to much we’ll go to 1 or 2 chapters a week. No biggie. I can’t wait till Monday.
