One of the main areas of my home that I focus on keeping especially clean clutter free is my kitchen. I put forth an extra effort to clean up the kitchen after every meal. This habit allows me to look forward to cooking the next meal with pleasure.
When I begin cooking any meal I fill one side of the sink with hot water. I used to use regular hot tap water but I’m going to begin boiling the dish water from now on. This will allow the stuck on foods to soften faster and my water will stay hotter much longer.
I add the hot water to the sink along with my dish detergent. I now begin preparing my meal. As I finish using each dish, I drop it into the hot water. Initially I only place dishes, cups and utensils into the water. The pots are stacked on the counter near to the sink. These are submerged and washed last.
Once I get my entire meal on the stove or in the oven I begin wiping down all of my surfaces. I spray Lysol disinfectant directly onto a dishcloth whenever I’m cooking, in order to prevent any chemical mist falling into my meal.
After the surfaces are clean, I fill the opposite side of the sink with cold water. As I wash each dish I dip them into the sink with the cold water and load them into my dash rack to dry. Once all of the dishes are washed I place the pots into the water to soak while I hand dry and put away the clean dishes.
The pots are then cleaned, dried and put away. Finally I wash and disinfect the dish rack, dry it and put it away under the sink.
Last but not least, I spray the entire sink with a disinfectant (even vinegar and water will do), wipe and then dry.
And the end result is a shiny sink.
What is yor dish cleaning routine? Also, I would love to see pictures of your shiny sinks. If you post one come back and let me know so that I can add a link to your page to this post.
