Here is tip for frugal fun for kids. I keep old containers such as these below for my daughter to play house with. She uses them right along with her fake pots and pans. She sets everything up on a shelf and goes grocery shopping and then carries all of her frugal buys home to cook. The cereal containers usually last about a week before it gets crushed.
Every time I see my Mother in love, she has something for me. Whether it’s something for my pantry or my home it’s always something that I usable. Last week she brought this (see below). She bought it at a flea market and it is beautiful. She gave it to me the night that we had them over for dinner.
This print she gave me last year which she got for free. The building that she worked in had a fire and they were throwing away everything in the area of the fire. The company was going to completely redecorate the area, so she asked for this picture which was a set. They told her she could take it and anything else she wanted. She also got a free file cabinet as well.
This one she gave me three weeks age when we went to visit her an my Father in love. She had gotten it at a yard sale for $2.00. It has found it’s home on a shelf in my den.
My mother in love is such a sweet lady. She has taught me so much about thrifty living. She prepares for the future by buying in bulk and she makes wise investment choices. She spends very little to decorate her home and has taught me how to make my home beautiful with second hand items. You don’t have to spend a fortune to have nice things. My mother in love always says ‘there’s always a deal somewhere, you just have to know where to look’.
