A Proverbs Wife

Menu Plan Monday

I hadn’t been participating in MPM lately because I had become uninspired; not having an oven to bake with.
I’ve missed the aroma and taste of warm fresh baked breads, cakes and cookies. I’ve missed oven roasted BBQ chicken and lasagna. I had gotten into a rut, but then I remembered the word of the Lord….
Proverbs 30:8 Remove far from me vanity and lies; give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me-KJV
1 Timothy 6:8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content-KJV
So I will be making two of my favorite meals this week using an alternate method. They will be crock pot lasagna and crock pot BBQ chicken. Here is my menu for the week. All of the needed groceries were purchased from Aldi and Walmart. I am thankful that because of my diligent efforts to stock up our pantry I was able to spend only $35 this week on groceries….(Praise God)

  3. I feel you girl! Our oven is on it’s last leg too, and with my husband out of work, things are definitely getting creative in this house!

But, crock pot lasagna is our favorite. The family likes it so much in the crock that I never bake it anymore. I am sure you guys will love it. I would suggest letting it stands for 30 minutes with the heat off to make it easier to cut and serve. 🙂
