Why Bother?

Why Bother… is a wonderful post that discuss in depth the reasons why it so important to stay focused on the true reason for all of the effort that we put forth in caring for our homes.

I couldn’t have written this one better myself.

Thank you for sharing this article. It has been a blessing and caused me to look at things in a new perspective. Instead of moping around and being depressed about not being able to find a job as my husband would like, I can be productive and have my home the way my husband would like it to look. I’m praying that he will see the results and see that it is necessary for me to be at home to take care of our children and our home.

Also, don’t worry about your “friend” who got offended. I have had people do me the same way when I only intended to inspire them. I’m thrilled when I discover something new and love to share, but you do come across people who think you are pointing the finger at them. Keep doing what you are doing. It is indeed a blessing to many of us!

    Much love,

I can only shake my head, Hadias. The tone with which you write has always seemed to me very thoughtful, generous, & gracious…not at all presuming some kind of superiority over others. We all have our shortcomings!! And if I can glean helpful information from another woman blogging, about her own ups & downs as she seeks to do the best for her family, then so much the better for me. Anyway, a few days ago I did read this particular post you’ve cited, & yes, it did speak to me as well. It brings some things into focus, for sure!

    many thanks,

It’s amazing how easily we can become distracted and allow them to slip.

“Why Bother” is a post that I would love to share with all of my non-blogger friends.

I like to share the inspiration that I get from blogging, but I am very apprehensive at times.

I had read a great article one time about spending time with our children and e-mailed it to my friend. I told her that I thought it was an awesome article and how it had inspired me.

After reading it she sent me a self righteous return email defending the fact that she makes time for her children and gave me a list of all of the things that she does with her children.

I was floored. I didn’t know that she would be offended. Or that she would think that I was attacking her.

I am so glad that none of my readers were thinking that I was personaly judging them in anyway by the topics that I blog about.

My only intention is to inspire wives and mothers to aim for God’s expectation of them, not mine.

    Thank you all for reading.

As usual I have found no only inspiration, but direction from your blog and the one you directed me to tonight. Of all my short-comings perhaps my worst one is letting my priorities slip. Thank you again my dear friend.
