A Proverbs Wife

Vegetable Garden from Seed Packets

She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard. Proverbs 31:16

I spent Wednesday morning restocking my vegetable garden seed reserve. My Mother and Father in-love visited with us on Monday and they shared with us that my FIL has started a vegetable garden.

I gave him a few packages of seeds that I had purchased to plant so that he could experiment. He had planted two store bought tomato plants and two bell pepper plants.

When he saw what was growing in my vegetable garden from seeds he wanted to give it a try.

So after shopping for seeds the children and I headed home to prepare a new flower bed. With their help we hoed the grass, tilled the soil, mulched and finally sowed some Lavender and Dahlia seeds.
I also have a second round of Gladiolus peeking through the soil as well as some tiny lettuce leaves making a grand entrance. I will share pictures later this week.

Thank you for reading about how I spent my Wednesday. I would love to know how you spent yours.

Spread the love

  1. Go for it Bren. Get your hands dirty. Please share pictures of your progress.

Oh me to Lawanda. I walked through the lavender section in the Loews’ gardening center and wanted to but it all. There were two varieties which both smelled beautiful.

I can hardly wait until mine is mature.

The Dahlias are going to be fun because I purchased a multi colored pack. So I am excited about seeing what colors will be added to my flower beds and deck planters.

Thanks for stopping by Renae. I loved your latest post regarding setting to high of an expectation. I have been down that road and always feel miserable when things don’t work out as I thought they should. I’m still working on dying to the perfectionist in me.

Thank you all for stopping by even those of you who didn’t have time to leave a comment. I understand how busy life can get.

  2. I guess I haven’t clicked over from my reader in awhile. Your new layout is so nice!

Our tomatoes are starting to produce fruit. Yum!

  3. Oooooh! I love lavender! And dahlia’s are some of my favorite flowers! 🙂

  4. I put my plants in yesterday and will plant seeds today. Finally it feels warm enough here to plant!
