I try to make life easy for myself in the mornings by setting up breakfast bars. Everything is in one location for easy prep and go. In addition to this I make breakfasts that don’t require alot of work. Try the recipe below for crockpot grits.
Stephanie’s Overnight Grits Crock-pot Recipe
1 cup of Grits
5 cups of water
2 teaspoons of salt
2 teaspoons of butter of margerine
Add all ingredients to the crockpot. Cover and cook on high for 6 hours.
Thank you all for stopping by. I really appreciate your comments and encouragement.

Mmmm….I’m on my way to this idea. I think I just need to formalize it like you have.
I’ve been making steel cut oatmeal in my crockpot, and to save on cleaning the crock, I set another bowl inside and add water to the crock. It works as a double-boiler (or “bain-marie”) and cooks them perfectly without any mess.
Someone reported that this double-boiler method works great for grits, too, in case you want to try it.
I’m going to. I made oatmeal this morning.
Tomorrow, thanks to your inspiration: grits. (We have guests, so I’ll be like a bed-n-breakfast when I set up the breakfast bar!)

Did I already tell you I love your new look?! It is GORGEOUS!!!
We usually have easy breakfasts. But occasionally Kevin likes for me to cook a big breakfast 🙂

This southern girl loves grits – I wonder if you could add cheese to them . . . Great tip!

Great idea, I do something similar and it’s been a life-saver.
