2 cans of tomatoe paste
1 can of crushed tomatoe w/juices
1 large green bell pepper
2-4 cups of pasta water
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons italian seasoning
2 tablespoons garlic powder
Add together in a blender a cored bell pepper, tomato puree, italian seasoning, garlic powder, crushed tomato and sugar. Blend on low for chunky sauce, high for pureed sauce.
Add pasta water until desired consistency is achieved. Use as you would any store bought sauce. Experiment with the amount of seasoning until the sauce suits your families liking.
I have also used carrots, mushrooms and jalapenos in addition to bell pepper.
