Things I Don’t Buy Anymore
Dawn Sodini asked….
Would you please share your recipes for laundry detergent and some of the other things you make.
This is a list of things that I have began making over the last two tears that have helped me slash my grocery budget. Not only do these recipes help me save money, they also allow me more free time with my family. I spend less time running to the grocer for every little thing that runs out. I have implemented many of these techniques with the help of my husband and children. They have allowed me to spend countless hours researching these ideas as well as helping me incorporate them into our lifestyle.
Dish Washer Detergent
Homemade Laundry Soap Links
Spaghetti Sauce
Taco Mix
Bread
Perogies
Spinach & Tomato Pasta Sauce
Wendy’s Spicy Chicken Sandwich
Pizza Crust
Sub Rolls
Frozen Pizza
Begin by incorporating at least one of these techniques into your schedule per month. At first they will be time consuming. You will have to learn new recipes for many of the homemade suggestions. However once you have made them a few times they will become second nature. You will see that making laundry soap will be very similar to grating a block of cheese.
I would love for you to come back and share your experience

Homemade always wins hands-down. It’s frugal, better tasting, healthier, and often times greener too!

Since our daughter was diagnosed with Celiac Disease about 6 years ago we have given ‘convenience’ foods the boot!
We have homemade recipes for almost everything in the frozen food asile! Your perogies entry reminded me of my first try at homemade…not a success…but I kept trying~
Now I have mastered many things that I thought I never would! Our daughter feels a lot better and we don’t spend so much $$$.
