Homemaking Away From Home

I am not a huge fan of eating out and prefer to cook at home. This is the case even on vacation. While we vacationed in Kissimmee a few weeks ago, we cooked some of the most delicious meals, one of which I will share with you today.

When we vacation we vacation DEEEEP!…as in (alot of people). We rented a 3 bedroom loft at the Westgate Vacation Villas in Kissimmee for the (9) of us. We traveled down with my in-laws, their daughter and my family of (6). The accommodations were wonderful. If you ever get a chance to stay at the Westgate you’ll love it. My favorite location is the Orlando Westgate Lakes resort and Spa on Turkey Lake Rd.

If you are a owner you get to use all of the amenities for FREE such as the paddle boats on Swan Lake, fishing, a state of the art Movie theater or any of the 13 pools to name a few.

What makes ther Orlando/Kissimmee area such a great vacation spot for families is the fact that you can find accommodations that offer all the convinces of home. Our suite had a full kitchen, dining room and breakfast bar. On our second night in Orlando we went to Publix and bought all of our meat, fresh veggies and cold desserts. Here is a glimpse into our night #2 while on vacation. All pictures can be clicked to enlarge.

Shrimp Stir-Fry

stir fry veggie mix was FREE @ Publix using a $3/$5 FLIP

Crab Salad
veggie mix was FREE using the same $3/$5 FLIP mentioned above

Sweet Corn

we also had sauteed shrimp, rotisserie chicken (pre-cooked from Target)
Velveeta deluxe macaroni & cheese,

Fried and Baked Tallapia

We really had a wonderful time. If you are interested in visiting any of the Westgate locations worldwide, send me an email and I will send you a discount vacation code.

You can visit anywhere there is a Westgate for $99. You must meet the vacation requirements and be willing to attend a 30 minute presentation to get the $99 deal. All others will pay regular retail for the suites.

Be sure to check out the Las Vegas location scheduled to be complete in 2010. I am considering that location as I type. I don’t gamble but there are so many amenities at Westgate that it’s worth the trip to Vegas to stay at such a nice resort.

Have you vacationed this year? Where did you go? I’d love to here about your destinations as I am always looking for new vacation spots.

Spread the love

Wow! I would love to eat like that while on vacation. Now I'm rethinking the way I do meals while we are away from home.
