My copy of Potluck Survival Guide arrived just in time for the Holiday’s. One of the main things that has held me back from being as hospitable as I have wanted was my lack of knowledge when it comes to feeding large crowds.
I had a trembling fear of not only feeding large crowds, but a mixed crowd with adults and children was terrifying.
What do you serve? You don’t want to serve an all kids meal such as pizza poppers and hot dogs. However if you serve lasagna and salad, children are liable to skip the main course altogether and feast on the snack table.
This is where Potluck Survival Guide comes in for. The book is a high gloss soft cover book, filled with hundreds of recipes great for entertaining and type or size group.
I love the way Cherie has organized the book. All of the Recipes are grouped together by types like appetizers, breakfast, entrees, etc. However, she not only provides recipes, but she has sections of helpful tips like best food to prepare for a road trip. There are various examples of buffet strategies to reduce the chance of traffic jams around the serving tables.
This book is packed with useful for information for any beginners and experts alike.
I must say that I equally am impressed with the thought that went into choosing the materials to construct the book. The book cover and pages have a gloss that should be easy to wipe clean with a dry cloth in case of splatter.
Since receiving my copy of “Potluck Survival Guide”, I hosted and attended several potlucks…and guess what? No trembling.
