Morning Facial Routine

I am a busy wife and mom…and sometimes taking care of myself can get pushed to the back burner. Even though that may sometimes be the case, I want to make sure that remains the exception and not the rule.

How do I make sure that I’m looking  my best each day?

1- I moved beyond a soap and water face cleaner. I love the Clinique line but my budget can’t always afford it. My second choice is the Olay line. The Olay facial cleanser is regularly on sale for around $5 – $6 and you can usually find a coupon for it.

I save time on cleaning my face by I keeping my tube of Olay in the shower with me. Each time I shower I wash my face. This is a great tip and it doesn’t require any extra effort or time added to my schedule.

2- Acheieve an even skin tone in one easy step. I have combined my Revlon liquid foundation with my Aveeno facial moisturizer.  Since my moisturizer has a white tint and my foundation a brown tint, it takes a little trial and error to achieve the right shade. This beauty secret is a time saver which is why cosmetic companies have begun selling tinted foundation at a beefed up price.

3- After completing steps 1 and 2 I often stop there, but on some days I finish off my routine with a little color. How much make-up I use depends on where I am going. For the sake of simplicity my everyday look is a clear or tinted lip gloss. Lip gloss goes a long way towards improving appearance. I also brush on a shade or two of earth tone eye shadow.

Why I use earth tone shadow? I use shades that matches my natural skin tone because like I said ” I am a busy wife and mother”. I don’t always have the time to correctly apply colors that stand out. With colors that match my skin tone, there is less room for error.

There you have it….the facial routine of a busy wife and mother. Do you have a facial routine? If so, leave a comment sharing what works for you.
