Balance Your Checkbook Religiously

Proverbs 31:27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

One of the things I’ve learned on my journey to becoming debt free is that I must be aware of what my money is doing AT-ALL-TIMES! This is one of the reasons why my husband and I manage our bank accounts daily.

The easiest way to do this is to sign up for daily balance alerts. These updates can be sent to your phone or email inbox.

What we are doing each day is recording any purchases and checking of any other activity that may have taken place in the last 24 hours such as drafts, deposits, etc.

We are also distributing our finances to the appropriate accounts and deciding where any excess funds need to be allocated.

Managing our money this way has helped use to stay ahead of any misapplications of funds or non sufficient funds charges. It has also helped us become more prudent in the budgeting of our finances.

Is there any one thing you do that makes you better at managing your finances?
