Meet Kristi From Spend Less and Save More

Today I’d like to welcome and introduce you to Kristi from SpendlessandSaveMore. Kristi has been blogging since 2009 and has agreed to let us pick her brain.

Can you tell us a little about yourself?

I am a work at home mother of two who loves finding deals and sharing money saving tips with everyone.

When did you start blogging? How did you get into blogging and why?

I began blogging in 2009 after leaving my career as a teacher. Because we lost my income, I had to find ways to cut back. Because of my training as a teacher, I really wanted to help others and knew that many people could benifit from my knowledge, thus the blog began.

What is your blog about and why should people read it?

Spend Less and Save More is about finding ways to cut back on things we purchase everyday. If you are looking to spend more and save less, then this is the place for you!

What would you say inspires the content of your posts?

I know what it means to sacrifice and how many women do it. Sacrifice doesn’t neccisarily mean that you have to give up everything, it means you have to get creative and you have to become a master of your money. My posts are there to help people not only get great deals on the items they want to buy, but also there to inspire them to think about their money in a different way.

A lot of people are interested in blogging for money, what are some tips for people who would like to make money from blogging? What are some realistic expectations?

You are not going to get rich blogging. You need to be genuine in your posts, and careful about the advertising you do. Don’t try to sell others on things you wouldn’t purchase or do yourself.

Everyone has a favorite/least favorite post. Name yours and why?

When I decided to stop teaching, I had to get creative in thinking about how I could bring in extra money. I began selling on eBay and it is now my family’s supplemental income. For that reason, I love sharing how I make money on eBay in my Making Money on eBay series.

Thanks so much Kristi for letting us get to know you.
