I wish that I could give one of these sets to every mom who reads my blog. With a set like this, you won’t need another to keep them busy and entertained. I was so surprised to see the Rok Works Construction set exceed my expectations. I’ll be the first to admit that I was a loyal Lego fan when it came to construction sets for kids. In fact I was so upset when I missed the huge Amazon Lego sale this past December and spent several ours looking for a construction set for the kids. I couldn’t find the set I wanted from Lego so I settled on another brand.

Initially my kids were so excited about the projects that were included in the construction tub, but that excitement soon fizzled out. We completed one project and soon after they moved on to using the pieces to make weapons. While I thought the idea of a bucket full of tools and plastic parts would be the toy that would hold their attention for months to come, it had missed it’s mark and I didn’t understand why. I found that I had wasted my money and had to virtually beg them to build the projects they were intended for.

That was until they had a chance to review the Rokenbok line.

Rokenbok Review

Here’s what stood out for my boys:

  • They loved all the moving parts from the conveyor belts to the loading dump trucks.
  • The flashing lights and squealing sounds just sucked them right in.
  • Individual areas of the construction site that allowed them to work together.

Here’s what stood out for me:

  • I love the moving parts. The trucks allow them to pick up things from one end of the construction site and transport them to another.
  • The remote controls are super smart and don’t interfere with the other when being used by multiple children. My youngest son tried to hijack my oldest sons truck using his remote but it did not work. Love this feature!
  • There are several things to do on the construction site which allows the kids to play separately, with the same toy, in the same area, without getting on each others nerves. Love this feature too!!

Since receiving our set the boys have played with it daily with out me having to ask or encourage. Each day after school they’ve played with it for hours. They’ve even started using the Power Sweeper and Loader to pick up trash particles from the carpet.
