Asian Inspired Dinner Party

Last night we had some friends over for dinner and I really wanted to share some pictures with you.

Mister P and I had driven to Charlotte a few months ago during Restaurant Week to visit and have dinner with some friends. Our initial plan was to eat at Ruth’s Chris, but we later decided to head to P.F. Chang’s. I had never eaten there before since we don’t have one close to where we live but I was amazed at how good the food was.

I left feeling like I’d have to schedule another trip to Charlotte just so we could eat there again, so when I was contacted by a Public Relations representative for P.F. Chang’s and asked to host a party for my friends at their expense of course I jumped at the opportunity.

So late last week I was in almost daily communication with the gals handling this campaign and they kept me posted on what I needed to do and what I could expect from them. The first of the goodies cam on about Thursday of last week and take a look at what was inside.

After unpacking the cooler and boxes of goodies, I laid everything out to begin brainstorming ideas for the party. The goodie box contained (2) white bowls from Crate and Barrel and I’d use those as the main color for the party.

It only made sense for the party to be Asian themed but I knew I couldn’t pull it together alone so I headed over and began pinning pictures to my Asian Themed Dinner Party idea board. Using the board made it so easy to gather my ideas and make them come to life.

Once I pieced together some general ideas I was off to the store to pick up a few items. I was able to find everything I needed except for chocolate covered fortune cookies and Bonsai plant from my inspiration board.

Since we were having kids over, I wanted to include a sweet treat. I could not find the chocolate covered fortune cookies locally so I decided to buy Chinese take out boxes below and fill them with candy for the kids to take home.

A few days before the dinner, I set everything up on the table to make sure that it looked like I’d envisioned.

Needless to say that the party was a hit with the adults and kids. The food was delicious and so easy to prepare. All of the P.F. Chang’s Home Menu Meals for 2 cook in under 13 minutes.

I’ll definitely be adding these meals to my deep freezer for those hectic nights when we need a quick meal. Be sure to enter the P.F. Changs giveaway for chances to win FREE food, coupons and more.
