My day begins between 4 and 5:30 a.m. and I’m usually asleep by 8:30 pm. I had a good schedule but as life changes I felt like my old schedule was becoming burdensome so I sat down with my husband and we talked about my goals.
We talked about what I’d like to accomplish as a Christian, wife, mom and blogger. Here’s a peek at what some of my goals were.
I want a closer walk with God. I felt as though my old schedule was pulling me in too many directions and mostly it was pulling me away from God. I was not able to worship and connect with God like I needed to because my mind was always racing.
I want to have distinct times carved out where I’m not multi-tasking and trying to be available for them.
I want to stick to a set schedule and begin delegating some of the task related to my blog.
Once my husband knew what I wanted he sat down with me and came up with my new schedule.
Starts: 4:30 a.m./5:30 a.m. — Ends: 8:30 pm
- Prayer/Devotions (10 minutes)
- Blogging/Writing (1 hour)
- Start dinner (10 minutes)
- Prayer, Devotions, Bible Study (30 minutes)
- Gym/Workout (1 hour)
- Shower & Breakfast (30 minutes)
- Blogging (4 hours)
- Focus on the Kids (1 hour)
- Chores (30 minutes)
- Blogging/Social Media (1 hour)
- Focus on the Husband (Rest of the evening)
I followed this schedule yesterday and although I ran into a few kinks, I pretty much liked it. As you can tell, I am very reliant on my husbands opinion and feedback. After 10 years of marriage I can say that he knows me and trust that he has my best interest at heart.
I hope that if you take anything away from today’s post let it be this, your husband can be your greatest ally or your greatest enemy. It’s up to you to decide which you’d like to cultivate in your marriage.
