The Counting My Blessings Report is a new monthly feature where I’ll share how I’ve been blessed in BIG and small ways each month. This month I had a chance to sit down and evaluate my self and have decided to make a few changes in my life.
Let me start by saying that I have been dissatisfied with how I’ve been spending my time and using my talents.
I’ve been spreading my time and resources over so many good ideas but was not giving my all to the great ideas.
I started 2012 making some personal and professional changes that I can already see are having an great impact.
One thing I decided to do more of is personal growth articles. I really got away from that during the latter half of 2011. I’ve already published a few this month which include my monthly Save The Change Challenge, my weekly Goals and Menu Plan, Do-It-Yourself and some How To projects just to name a few.
Another article you should look for each month is this newly featured Count My Blessings Report. This year I want to become more intentional about counting my blessings.
I really think doing so will cause me to slow down the pace of my life.
Instead of rushing for challenge to challenge and task to task, I want to really examine each moment of my days to identify how I am being blessed.
I want to begin acknowledging not just the big obvious blessings but the small as well.
This will cause me to have a humbler perspective on each situation I face.
Here are the blessings that I’ve identified this month including some pages from my scrapbook journal.
1- I received confirmation that I should tweak the focus of my blog content which may ultimately result in less income. This has been a challenging decision as the income from my blog goes to paying off our debt. It’s scary for me to do this but I know it’s what I am called to do. It’s definitely a blessing to hear clearly what I am supposed to be doing at each juncture of my life.
2- The first day back to school for the kids after the Christmas and New Year holiday should have been stressful having been out of the routine for two weeks. However, I made up in my mind not to get frustrated as they tried to get back into the swing of school. I didn’t yell or fuss at them. I was granted the patience I needed to mother them.
3- At the beginning of 2012 I needed direction as I got back into the groove of homemaking after the Christmas and New Year holiday. I asked and was able to get my homemaking, blogging, reading back on track effortlessly. I was even able to make a skirt for my daughter the first week of 2012. I’ll share pictures of how I did it soon.
4- New email newsletter subscribers. Thank you for your support.
5- A working vehicle.
6- A paycheck arriving in the mail right in time for January’s bills.
7- Cleaning products that made cleaning my home and laundry burden free. It’s no fun trying to clean up when you don’t have the right products. There’s nothing like having a handy scraper for seriously stuck on food or Ajax for hard to clean tubs.
8- My hair cooperated and turned out fabulously even though I waited unto just 10 minutes before it was time to pick up my son to style it. I didn’t manage my time well and spent too much of it working on blog stuff so I was glad that the time I needed was restored and it didn’t take the time it should have taken to style my hair.
9- Peace of mind and help in choosing dinners each day.
10- My husband who does laundry almost daily even after working all day. This is such a big help.
11- My children were very quiet and argument free on Monday evening.
12- The wonderful gals who help me behind the scenes with posting and finding deals. I prayed diligently for helpers to run the blog and I was blessed with the perfect people to fit my personality and work ethic.
13- My mom who calls me almost weekly just to say hello.
14- My husband was called for an extra job this week in addition to his regular work. It’s a blessing to see how opportunities opens up for us to earn extra income.
15- Getting the kids to school on time even after having to wait for the truck windows to defrost.
16- My Mother in Love who calls me just to talk.
17- My sweet husband who took our son to school one morning even though he had to get up extra early for a work assignment.
18- 89.7 WMHK which my children will listen to all daylong. I pray their hearts always long to hear wholesome family friendly music.
19- Quiet time alone to read my Bible and Devotionals.
20- Prayer time with my husband and children.
21- A husband who believes in and supports me.
22- Children who pray for me.
23- The prayer forum which I’m sure will be a wonderful blessing to all who participate and support it with their prayers.
24- And of course all of the amazing men and women who support my blog.
