A Proverbs Wife

Working Willingly: My plans for the week of 2/13 and meal Ideas

Working from home on Monday’s is tough for me because after everyone has left for school and work I still have to look at the fallout from the weekend.

Right now, there is clean laundry on the couch, dishes in the dishwasher, tons of laundry to be done, weekly menus to be planned all on top of working on my blog.

I like to sit on the couch and work instead of in my office, but not on Monday’s. If I work from the couch the clothes will keep taunting me to fold and put them away.

The pile of magazines and papers on the living room table will snicker at me as I type up posts and reply to emails.

Monday’s are tough for me.

The perfectionist in me wants to make the house spotless before I began working on my blog but I won’t do it. If I do, I’ll be worn out and stressed trying to get blogging done before everyone gets home.

What I’ll do is follow my husband’s advice and ignore the clothes until everyone gets home this evening and when I close my laptop this afternoon we will work together to get the house cleaned up.

It’s weird for me to follow that plan because I equate a clean house to self-worth. For years I felt that if my home was clean I was doing this wife and mom thing correctly. Even though I know that’s not true I still struggle with myself on the issue.

So today I’m ignoring the clothes and the piles of paper.

Here are some of my for this week.

1.) FAITH:

  • Bible Reading: I read a chapter from Proverbs each day and whatever else God lays on my heart.
