Dinner and Movie Experience Under $25!!
Just about every weekend of the month we have a DVD movie night. Most weekends we include the kids, but it depends if there are family friendly movies available on video or not.
This weekends movie night was centered around just me and the Mr. Thanks to Collective Bias, we had a chance to not only watch Freelancers starring Robert De Niro, Forest Whitaker, Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson and Dana Delany, but we were also challenged to put together a date night under $25.
Are your kidding me!? A date night under $25. I could put together a entire date day with $25!!
After talking with the Mr. we decided to make his favorite copycat Wendy’s Spicy Chicken sandwich recipe and fries for dinner. We also whipped up some homemade oatmeal raisin cookies using a recipe from my recipe binder.
I already had just about everything I needed for the date night except the following.
On Friday, I headed over to Aldi and grabbed everything on my list. While shopping I also spotted some great deals on whole chickens, Mexican pantry staples and icing. There are plenty of photos of my shopping trip and how this date night came together which you can view in my Google+ photo stream.
My total cost for date night supplies was $13.36 plus the cost of the Blockbuster Express DVD rental.
After preparing dinner and dessert the Mr. and I cuddled up to watch Freelancers. The cost of the movie rental was an additional $2 bring my grand total to just $15.36.
That’s not bad for dinner, dessert and a movie with my favorite man.
