Did anyone get any reading done last month?
I barely read anything in July except for my Bible and a few chapters of Grace for the Good Girl. I tried my darnedest to read the entire book but I just couldn’t relate. Here’s why…
My Review of Last Months Reading
Grace for the Good Girl: Letting Go of the Try-Hard Life is about women who were always considered ‘good girls’ but deep inside they were just people pleasers. They’d spent their live trying to please people instead of pleasing God. They did everything right but never felt any peace. This just wasn’t me which made it challenging to finish the book. I wasn’t a good girl by any stretch of the imagination. I was a rebel and sought to please only myself. I grew up with this idea that in this world it was every man for himself. Eat or be eaten. I grew up and unprotected child which resulted in a cynical and distrusting young adult.
What I can relate to in Grace for the Good girl is that regardless of what kind of girl you are, you need Jesus. Only he can heal hurts and insecurities. If you are one of those girls who feel crushed under the pressure of having to be all things to all people, this book will be a great encouragement to you. It will show you how to be all for Jesus and be at peace with your imperfectness.
You can click on any of the book titles to read detailed summaries from the publishers or order the book from Amazon.
