Have you heard the news? My husband and I are going to Honduras in partnership with a local ministry in Tegucialpa.
We will be working with a locally run outreach ministry called L.A.M.B. They run several ministries in and around Tegucigalpa, including the Alonzo Movement, a ministry to get boys and girls off the street. They also run a safe house, school, and a children’s home.
We will be sharing the love of Jesus of Christ, working at the children’s home during construction, and playing with the kids. It’s going to be a full week of listening to, learning from and loving on the people we meet in Tegucigalpa.
The neighborhood we’ll be serving is largely Hispanic, so we’ll be participating in bilingual worship.
Please pray for this mission trip experience. Pray for our team who is going – that we would learn about the community we’re visiting and grow closer to Jesus.
Pray for the community members who we meet – that we could love and honor them well. Pray especially for the kids who we’ll get to do ministry with – that they would connect the love we show with the love Jesus has for them.
In addition, please consider supporting us financially. The cost of our trip is $3,000 with $1,500 is due by July 15th. Between my online tribe here at A Proverbs Wife, family, friends, and fundraising we should be able to have the deposit on time and the remaining balance before we leave.
Financial gifts can be made through Paypal to firstname.lastname@example.org using this link. Again, thank you for your support.
I will be tracking the fundraiser in my planner and sharing updates on Instagram as the boxes get filled up. I drew this mission trip tracker so that I can see where we’re at when I’m away from my computer.
My plan is to share as much of the process with you as possible. This is new territory for us, so we’re in the learning phase. We have many friends who are missionaries that are guiding us in the process and it’s been helpful.
I will share updates as we get closer to our travel date and also share updates while we’re in Honduras. Most of them will be YouTube so make sure you’re subscribed to my channel.
Let me leave you with a video I made last night about our decision to become missionaries.
