Less Social Media. More Purpose.

I have just a few moments to write this as I wait for my husband to pop in for dinner and then head back out for work.

This morning I talked with some of you on Periscope about how I’ll be cutting back on some of my social media channels. I’m doing this in order to really focus on the platforms where I can make the most impact in the least amount of time. My goal is to provide resources that will encourage, inspire and ignite your passion for Biblical womanhood, but I want to do it in a way that you can access the resources at your leisure. I feel like with the growth of social media, we are being pulled in so many directions mentally and I don’t want to be a source that pulls you away from time with God, your family or offline connections.

Less Social Media. More Purpose.

The same is true in my life, I want to have a balance between what I create online and my relationships offline.  Coming up in a few days I will be sitting down to create a game plan or social media strategy where I will reduce the amount of time I spend online and increase the amount of impact I make with my online time. This will start with being more focused in the content I put on and on which platforms. While I love Periscope, it’s a bit of a hassle and isn’t the best use of my time. I’ve decided to refocus my vlogging efforts into my YouTube channels here and here. I will creating videos weekly if not daily on the two channels. All things faith and marriage will be uploaded here, while all things family and homemaking will be uploaded here.

The bulk of my focus will be on my blog and on creating content to usher us closer to the presence of God and help us find joy in homemaking. Between the two blog (this one and that one), I want to give you a peek into my life by sharing inspiring content related to building faith and cultivating family.

This has been and will continue to be an amazing year of growth and maturity for me and I want the same for you. I will provide resources that will challenge, inspire and  help you grow as a believer. Your part will be to get connected and communicate. When I publish a blog post, or video, hop in and join the conversation. I usually include a question in my posts and videos for you to respond to in the comments. So it’s easy to get involved.

The blogs and my Youtube channels will be my primary way of sharing information, but Instagram will be where you can talk with me on a even more personal level.

I have two accounts, but I am most active here. It’s my outlet where I share pictures, videos and daily inspiration for women like me. Instagram has been the best resource for connecting with you. I’ve gotten to know many of you more by the pictures you share on your profile and comments you leave on my page.

Finally, I will still share posts and pictures on my A Proverbs Wife Facebook page, just not much discussions will take place there.

So there you have it. There are links throughout this post to the platforms I’ll be most active on this year.

Okay Chicas! Which social media platform do you spend the most time on and do you feel like you spend too much time on social media?
