20 Verses For Christians Concerned About Finances

20 Verses For Christians About Finances | AProverbsWife.com | Homemaking Binder

I might be the only person on earth that struggles with having faith in God’s provision but I doubt it.

It’s so easy to find ourselves back in the rut of doubting God and the fact that He cares enough about us to meet our needs.

It can be especially easy to doubt when we place more of our focus on late bills, lost income and rising prices.

With all of this evidence staring us in the face each day it can be hard to believe that things will actually get better financially. While I have not mastered my fears about finances I do know the solution for overcoming those fears.

First, we must make a spiritual decision to trust God. We must choose to trust Him even when;

  • The bills are do and there’s not enough money.

  • When the major appliances break down one after the other.

  • When something stops working on your car.

  • When you’ve been on multiple job interviews and have not been hired yet.

We can focus on all of the problems or we can turn our focus to God’s promises. It’s His promises that change us and our situation. The promises are what allows us to have peace even when things look a mess.

We can go back to worrying, sulking and complaining or we can be transformed and renewed. The only way that’s going to happen is if we replace the old way of thinking with a better way. Romans 2:12

To do this, we must first get our hearts into a posture surrender.  A heart surrendered to God always precedes a renewed mind. If it takes saying it to yourself, the devil and to God, just come out and say, “I’m trusting God (period)“.

Once you’ve made up your mind, you’ll need to fortify decision with a steady diet of God’s word. If you have a budget book or homemaking binder, you should have theses verses in there.

I suggest reciting one or more of the verses below daily but especially before:

  • opening a bill or paying a bill.

  • managing your check book.

  • going grocery shopping.

  • going on a job interview.

  • bed.

I’m so excited about sharing my printable Absent Student Letter that I can hardly contain myself.

I’m one of those people who get really excited when I stumble upon organization innovations. Anything that will make my life run smoother excites me.

Last year when all of my children went from homeschool to public school, I knew that I would need to be equally diligent in keeping their documents organized. When I homeschooled I kept meticulously detailed records of their work and I was just as organized with our school room supplies.

I wanted to carry that same discipline over to managing their public school education which is what led me to create School Year Binder. One of the documents inside each child’s section in my binder is absent student printable.

This may seem like a small thing but come winter when it seems like a child in your home is sick every other week, you’ll thank me.

Like I said, I keep a few copies of the Absent Student Letter in my School Year Binder so when my child is able to go back to school I just fill in the form.

Here’s what it looks like.

6 Back to School Bible Verses for Kids

Do you ever get an anxious feeling inside as the summer comes to an end and you will soon be sending your kids to spend most of their waking hours away from you for the next nine months?

That’s the feeling I used to get. It stemmed from a place of fear, and ignorance of what God word had to say about children.

I feared that my children would be exposed to sin and that I had no defense of keeping them pure and untouched by sinfulness.

This was my thinking until I read the book Grace Based Parenting earlier this year and began studying faith from a child’s point of view.

After seeking out scripture related to children and faith I realized that my children will only follow after the strongest desires that are already in them.

My children are not much different from me in terms of being a child of the Most High God. They posses a sin nature and a spirit of redemption just as I do. In fact, according to Matthew 18:3, children possess an innocence that allows them to trust and follow God far more easily than adults.

With that being said, I want to encourage families to walk in faith as they prepare for the new school year. To help you do that, I’m sharing 6 key verses I think every Christian child should hear before returning to school.

In addition to the 6 verses, I’m also sharing the 6 Dayspring Christian notebooks my kids will be using for school this year.

The team at Dayspring gifted me some notebooks, folders and other goodies for my daughter and we bought several additional notebooks for my son. I am so glad that Dayspring designed this line for kids. All of the products help to build upon the things we are teaching at home about faith. These supplies allow them to keep Gods word near them throughout the school day.

3. Jesus is close to people who embrace, love and give value to children in His name. (Mark 9:37, Matthew 18:5)

4. God is concerned about everything that concerns you. So much so that He has assigned a special Angel to look after you on His behalf. (Matthew 18:10)

5. Go has a special punishment reserved for people who do not treat children well. (Matthew 18:6)

6. Jesus does not want anyone to stop you from coming to Him at any time. There is never an inappropriate time to go to Him. (Matthew 19:14)

Last year at this time I was feeling giddy about where we were financially and shared how I track my monthly bills.

Well this year I was doing the same thing when my husband suggested that I make a printable document for our finance notebook.

I took him up on his suggestion and created a printable version Monthly Bill Sheet and I’m sharing it with you.

I created a video of the inside of my Financial Planning Binder where I use this form and today you can grab a FREE Monthly Bill Sheet (PDF).

The following topic is in my binder but I cannot remember where it came from so I typed it out for you to copy and print.

SPANKING:

The Bible teaches us to recognize that when we do wrong, they are guilty and should be told so. If they stubbornly refuse to admit guilt, they should be punished so they suffer for their wrong till they admit it. This is true of children and adults.

Proverbs 20:30 – Blows and stripes cleanse away guilt and reach the inner depths of the heart Spanking is not just an external act. It reaches the heart and teaches the child to become an upright, righteousness person. It molds godly characters.

But the Bible also has a solution for the guilt. When one is sorry, represent apologies, and corrects his conduct, he receives forgiveness from God and others who follow the Bible {Matt. 6:12-15; Luke 17:3,4}. One reason many people do not appreciate the value of spanking is that they do not understand God concept of guilt and forgiveness.
