A Proverbs Wife

It was (sew) easy

I have really been enjoying my new sewing machine. I am far from a profesional but I made something very useful that I am really proud of. I needed a mini purse large enough to carry my cell phone, grocery list and keys, but small enough not to get in the way of me grabbing the children’s hand as we walk through the store.

So I made this little wrist purse. It’s perfect. I can carry my digital camera, a couple of dollars and my debit card without worrying about losing them. This is the perfect bag for when I have no pockets. It fists snuggly on my wrist and it’s fun and easy to make. I enjoyed being able to incorperate my love of crocheting anf my new found joy of sewing all into one project.

Check it out.

  1. Thank you all for your comment and words of encouragement. I am enjoying all of the crafting that I have done this year. I am especially pleased that my oldest daughter has gotten involved in crocheting and she is hooked.

I really like the ease of working with the sewing machine. Alot of it is prepping o do the actual sewing, but it has been fun so far.

Hadias, this is great!! I’m very impressed with your skills…you seem to have a mechanical mind, allowing you to figure out the whole lining/zipper/crochet application thing. Way to go! Somebody else mentioned how hooked you’re going to become, the more sewing you do.I’ll second that. (o:

  3. Terrific! Glad you are loving your sewing machine. 🙂 Way to jump right in and do a zipper!

Your crafts are so cute and well-done. I love your mini-purse.
I’m glad you’re enjoying your sewing machine.

I need to make something to hold my little cell phone, as it’s so easy to lose. I was thinking of quilting a little case and putting a snap loop on it so that I could hang the loop on my purse strap. But, do you have any other ideas?

  5. Look at you. You jumped right in there, working with zippers too. It looks great. Watch out because now your imagination will be working overtime of all the things you can do! Have fun!!!

    and ~ {lightbulb}!!

a camera case! Why had I never thought of making one before! My hubby has a storebought one, but I’ve never found one that I like. You’ve seeded an idea once again, H. I can customize mine to be what *I* need . . .! OOoooOOOOoooOOOooo! Off to plan *that* little project! 🙂
