I was recently given the chance to review “Draw and Write Through History – Creation through Jonah” . This book is an excellent resource for helping children learn history through the use of art. Each page offers a step by step guide to drawing specific detail from history and life in general.
It made teaching significant historical events easier through the use of art. I have tried effortlessly to incorporate the Charlotte Mason Nature Studies into our curriculum, but their inability to capture details made it frustrating.
This book solved my dilemma after one lesson. The first historical lesson was “Creation”. The children and I went step by step drawing a plant similar to a “Hosta”. I was amazed at how wonderful their pictures looked when we were done. Here is a sample of the page we used as a step by step guide.

I have shared the children’s completed work below.
This is a Mama Buzz review. The book was provided by Carylee Gressman for this review. The opinion expressed in this review whether positive or negative is my honest opinion.
