A Proverbs Wife

I Am Not Called To Blog…I’m Called To Him

When I first began blogging the purpose was to chronicle my challenges and accomplishments as struggled to follow God’s plan for my life. I thought it would be neat to keep a record of my routine as a stay at home mom all while remaining secluded in my little corner of the World Wide Web.

I never planned to earn any money with my blog….

Or to partner with some of my favorite companies….

Nor inspire and encourage anyone.

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33

I just thought it would be a good idea to chronicle how I struggled with being a stay at home mom. And how difficult it was to transition to one income, but as time went on, I began to see those struggles turn into victories. Where I once struggled to make ends meet on my husbands income, in time I was able to feed my family and also donate a full shopping cart worth of groceries to the food pantry every month.

Where I once felt like being at home full time was akin to bondage, I now cherish the privilege.

Although I began blogging as a hobby, I am constantly reminded that it has become so much more than that. While some content may help some save money, others are rekindling their relationship with Christ because of what they’ve read here.

There are times when I write and think who am I to tell people what to think or how to live? And it is in these times that I pray and ask God whether or not I should hit publish. It is then that I am reminded of why I started blogging in the first place. It was so that I could chronicle the work that He is doing in me.

I am so thankful for all that God has added to my life as a result of this blog but even more thankful for Him using it as a tool to call me to Himself.

Spread the love
