Day 1 of the A Proverbs Wife community Bible Reading Challenge.
Today is day one of our 7 Days in Ephesians and the verses that spoke to me were the following:
Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, cease not to give thanks for you;
Making mention of you in my prayers; that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him;
The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power…
(Ephesians 1:15-19 KJV)
Key Scripture: Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers Ephesians 1:16
Have you ever wanted to help someone who was going through a terrible situation like the loss of a loved one or divorce?
Situations like those can make us feel really helpless in the face of adversity.
We sometimes forget that God has provided us with a means to reach Him and get help no matter the circumstance.
Not only his He a prayer away, but He’s a praise away.
Paul gives us a great example of our role in the body of believers.
We are to praise and pray to God for them.
I take the names and needs of my loved ones before God everyday. That’s what Paul means when he said in Ephesians 1:15 “cease not”.
He telling us to keep doing it on a continuous basis.
Not only do I pray and thank God for my loved ones but I do the same for you all. I pray concerning the private prayer request and the ones you haven’t message me about.
If you are subscribed to my RSS feed or email newsletter, I’m praying for you.
If you are following me on Facebook you are included in the “LIKE” number and I say a collective pray for each of you.
The same is true if you follow me on Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram or YouTube.
It only takes a minute at the very least to pray for someone or a group of people.
What helps me is having a prayer journal which I mentioned in my prayer journal video earlier this year.
Praying is one of the most power file things you can so to help someone. Each pray is a conversation with God about the needs of someone else.
Prayer for others helps us be “we” focused versus “me” focused. (Tweet This)
