A Proverbs Wife

A Proverbs Wife

Day 3 of the A Proverbs Wife community Bible Reading Challenge.

Today is day three of our 7 Days in Ephesians and I want to magnify to example from verse 14.

For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ… Ephesians 3:14

I am a huge evangelist on the power of prayer. I just gave my testimony to a new friend on how I came to follow Christ when I was 20 years old. My relationship with Christ began with a prayer.

I told her about how I’d prayed something to the effect of, ‘if there is a God I need to see a miracle happen in my life that would let me know what my purpose in life is’. I had been raised Muslim up until the age of around 10 and then went to live with my aunt who started going to church when I was around 13. To say that I was confused as to who created man was an understatement.

Before praying that prayer at the age of 20, I had lost my father, been abandoned by my mother, separated from my siblings and experienced the loss of an aunt who was my guardian.

To say I was and angry person would be an understatement, but when I prayed that prayer within an hour my life had changed. I was on the road to becoming enlisted in the military and on the path to where I am today.

I am a prime example of how prayer coupled with obedience can change the life of someone who thought they were all out of options.

This is why I stand in agreement with Paul with absolute resoluteness on the fact that there is power in the very act of bowing our knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

As a result of my experience I pray everyday and multiple times a day. I try to pray without ceasing (I Thes. 5:7) because I have seen first hand the power in it.

I pray for myself but now moreso for others. And in the essence of full disclosure, many of you message me about prayer needs and I tell you that I’ve prayed for you but I want you to understand that I never pray for what you ask. I always pray for Gods will to be done in your lives. If His will is what you ask that His will be done.

In essence I pray Ephesians 3:16-21 over your lives and it reads;

That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;

That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,

 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;

And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end.

Amen.

What better prayer is there to pray than that?
