A Proverbs Wife

7 Days in Ephesians Reading Plan | October 22nd-29th | Day 4

A Proverbs Wife

A Proverbs Wife

Day 4 of the A Proverbs Wife community Bible Reading Challenge.

Today is day four of our 7 Days in Ephesians.

I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called… Ephesians 4:1

This verse couldn’t have come a better time. Those of you following me on Facebook know that I was offered an opportunity to go see this show. And just like a few months ago when I was asked to go on this show, my conscience just was not at ease about it.

As the creator of A Proverbs Wife I get opportunities to do things that I wouldn’t if I didn’t have this site. In the same vein, I have a responsibility to God and the people He sends to visit my site.

With that being said, I made up in my mind that I won’t be tempted with anything that could compromise my relationship with God. By going I’d be supporting with my time, attention and blog, something that opposes Gods word.

The only way that I can keep from being tempted by these types of offers is by relying on my husband as my accountability partner, prayer regarding every decision and transparency with you all as a body of believers. Just because there was no strong temptation these last two times, who’s to say what offers are down the line?

And this brings me to the point of how Ephesians 4:1 relates to me. Paul says to walk worthy of the vocation (calling) I was called to but in order for me to do that I must first be sure of what my calling is.

Peter said it best in 2 Peter 1:10 when says,

“Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall.”

I am confident that I am certain of my calling.

I have prayed and do pray over this blog and it’s purpose. What I’ve learned is that no matter what becomes of AProverbsWife.com it’s just a tool.

It’s not a tool to further anyone’s agenda but Gods because at the end of the day, I’m not called to blog…I’m called to HIM.

My blog is for His glory and for His utmost.

Have you ever been tempted with something you wanted but knew it wouldn’t please God? What did you do?

This is a great opportunity for you to get involved with a community wide study of the Bible.

Get involved:

  • Read the assigned verses.
  • post about what you’ve read for the day and share a link to your site in the comment section.
  • visit other blogs who are participating and gain even more insight into the book of Ephesians.
  • meet and interact with other APW community members

If you write about it on your blog, be sure to add the reading plan image to your post and include a link back here so that others can get involved. The reading plan will be posted 10/22 through 10/29.

I look forward to seeing your comments.

Spread the love

That’s God moving girl. It’s time for us to start walking in our calling. This generation of women need to see women who are following hard after God.

@Meggers, I probably will one day but I will do my best to follow Jesus’s example. I pray that my actions as a Christian always speak louder than my words.

You’re comments are always a pleasure to read, You don’t always comment but you do when it means the most and you are appreciated.

@The Proverbs Wife, Thank you! And I truly appreciate you too! We will all disappoint from time to time, but I can say that there’s some people in my life whom I respect so much that, should any of them disappoint me, it would actually cause me to question my own stance before questioning theirs. You are one of those people. 🙂
