Today I want to talk about the state of our men. What are they thinking in terms of the women in our society?
For those who are married, do they feel hopeless and regret marrying their wives? For those who are single, are they feeling hopeless about ever finding a Proverbs 31 wife?
I remember how my husband felt about me before I began this journey to becoming a Proverbs 31 wife. I can tell you that he felt hopeless and regretted marrying me.
I was argumentative, angry and defiant. When things didn’t go my way I was going to make them go my way by any means including but not limited to the silent treatment, withholding physical and emotional affection and not being his helpmeet.
So I know that even married men can be in marriages where they feel as though they’ll never have the women they may read about in the Bible, but it’s just not true.
God is able to take even the worst wife and make her the woman of your dreams.
She must only be willing and obedient.
The same is true for single men. Even if it looks like there are no honorable women left, it’s just not true. We have to rely on faith and hearing comes by the word of God. (Rom. 10:17)
But “faith is the substance of things hoped for an the evidence of things not seen”, (Heb. 11:1) and just because we can’t see it doesn’t mean it’s not there.
Back when I was a mess of a wife, my husband was a mess too. His behavior made it hard for me to change my behavior but when I started to look past his faults and see him as the man God wanted him to be, I was able to act like the wife God wanted me to be.
Sometimes husband don’t marry Proverbs 31 wives.
AND
Sometimes Proverbs 31 wives don’t marry Ephesians 5 husbands
BUT
God is able to take those things that we look at as hopeless and make them into something amazing!!
So let’s take a look at the comment that sparked this post. It was from an APW Facebook friend Dantrell who replies in response to reading my post 5 Biblical Characteristics of A Proverbs Wife.
He felt that there were no more Proverbs 31 women in his generation. Is this a myth? I’d love for you to comment below this post or on the thread on Facebook using the link below.
