The Importance of Family Prayer

PraiseReverence, Adoration, Yielding, Everlasting, and Results is an acronym for prayer.

When we come before God we give him praise for who he is. We go to God giving him reverence and adoration by honoring God, and thanking Him, respecting who He is.  We are yielding to every word he has to say by listening and obeying.

God desires that we ask in faith for the desires of our heart, for protection for our family, our lives, our homes, our children, our finances, over our meals and the list goes on and on. In general, prayer is important and should be one of the foundational tenants of our faith.

Matthew 18:20 (KJV) says “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”

1 Timothy  2:1-4 says “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men,  for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.  For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, whose desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

When you make your request known before God, it is important to pray in faith, not in doubt or unbelief.

Mark 11: 22-24 says” And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”
