Master Bedroom and Family Room Design Inspiration | White on Gold

This is the first time I’ve ever put together and official inspiration board of all of the amazing ideas I have rolling around in my head. We are ever working on our home updating it here and there on a shoestring budget.

I refuse to go out and blow thousands of dollars on furniture and home decor but what I will do is DIY, bargain and thrift my way to the stylish home I want.

I often peruse high end sites like Joss and Main to get my inspiration. This week I fell in log with their “white on white” collection. Many of the pieces are ones on my thrift list.

We are literally are working on every room of our home so I’ll share my inspiration pieces room by room.

The Master Bedroom

I love the look of the “Isle Dresser”  but just not the $1,929 price tag.

I picked up a similar dresser on Craigslist for $25 and plan to paint it in a few weeks. I even love the way the dresser is styled. The look is very clean and simple.

I’d most likely switch out the white vases for something gold toned since it’s the accent color in my bedroom decor.

This headboard is already in my bedroom minus the nailhead detail.  Our DIY headboard was one of the first my husband and I worked on together.

It will be fun to thrift and sale shop my way to the bedroom of my dreams.

The Family Room

The family room has been four years in the making. After it flooded we did absolutely nothing with it for four years except for remove the carpet to expose the concrete floor and remove the water damaged drywall.

In the last month, we’ve patched the interior concrete walls, replaced dry wall and painted. Next we’ll begin installing new flooring.

Of course…I want gold accents in the room. They’ll show up in the tables and etagere. I’ve already got my eye on some end tables from Target and spotted some on Craigslist. We’ll also bring in a nice dresser to repurpose as our media center.

Here are my inspirations.
