Goals for the Week of 11/16 – 11/22

Bible Journaling 1 Peter 2

Goals for the Week - APW

Last Monday I shared my weekly goals and now I need to look back and see what I’ve accomplished and where I need to improve.

Bible Journaling 1 Peter 2

Last week I committed to journaling I Peter 1-5, but honestly on made it through to chapter 3. I actually finished chapter 4 today and will finish chapter 5 tonight.

I think journaling 5 books of the Bible per week is doable, but I have to be more disciplined with managing my online time in the evening. It’s my biggest distraction.

This week I’m going to journal I John 1-5. I didn’t finish all five chapters last week and started to choose a book with only three chapters, but I really want to devote myself to this Bible journaling time five nights a week. Every night that I’ve done it, I’ve been blessed to just hear from God through His word and I need that.

Bible Journaling 1 Peter 2

Character: Last week I was focusing on grace and after studying I Peter, I realize I am a grace giver. I don’t harbor ill will toward people who have hurt me, but I do make a conscience decision not to deal with them anymore.

While I know many people would justify the decision, it’s not the kind of Christ follower I want to be. I want to be able to deal with people even after they’ve hurt me. The thing that keeps me from doing so is fear or caution about being hurt again, but the truth of the matter is, hurting people hurt people. The other truth is God has equipped me to help the hurting and not have it be so much of a burden that I won’t face it.

I want to be stronger in this area and I read something is I Peter 19 that will help me.

Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

It was just what I needed to read and it was just what confirmed to me that I am able to suffer for God and not be consumed by entrusting him with the keeping, care taking and looking after of my soul. If I come to Him and give Him my soul when it’s hurting, he will keep me in perfect peace because He is faithful.

Germaine: Help him have a smooth work week by planning meals and helping make sure what he need is ready.

Germaine Jr.: Intentionally ask questions and listen to his stories, plans and ideas about the future more this week. He’s such a talented young man and bright spot in my life.

Anniyah: Intentionally ask questions and listen to her stories, plans and ideas about the future more. Find ways to cultivate her natural gifting in the arts.

Juwan: Find ways to let him lead and take responsibility.

Menu Planning: I planned a full menu last week and have already started working on this weeks menu. Our meals plan starts on Wednesday and ends on Tuesday of the next week. As I make recipes I’ll share them on Aprons And Stilletos.

Finances: My big goal for last week was to increase our savings to 80% of our goal which I didn’t do. It was a far fetched goal, because it wasn’t in line with overall November budget plans.

A more compatible goal for this week is to stick with our budget and not buy anything we haven’t budgeted for. SO long as we do that, we should be able to reach our savings goal by the end of the month.

These are my goals for this week now it’s your turn. What would you like to accomplish in one of these areas this week?

Spread the love
